Job Responsibilities – Engineer I:
- Learn basic protection philosophy and applications to real-world scenarios
- Develop protective relay settings for ET protection schemes inside the substation
- Provide technical assistance to various engineering and field teams to fully develop the protection and control design package
- Provide technical support to conceptual engineering teams, project management teams and ET Field Organization throughout the course of capital projects
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Job Responsibilities – Engineer II:

- Provide advanced technical support to conceptual engineering teams, project management teams and ET Field Organization throughout the course of capital projects
- Participate in various company teams and industry-level organizations to enhance ET’s system protection performance
- Participate in trade and industry organizations and benchmarking activities
- Support team with compliance and/or setting peer review activities
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

- Strong time management skills with the ability to independently plan and organize work assignments.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing.
- Equally effective with working independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.
- Experience with short circuit modeling software preferred.
- Experience with SAP work management systems is a plus.
- Programming skills for automation of system studies (e.g., Python, .NET, C#, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with PSCAD and/or RTDS is a plus.
- Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices.

Job Description:
Engineer I: 0-2+ years of engineering experience (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications; A an advanced degree can count as one year experience)
- Basic understanding of AC/DC fundamentals, including three-phase power systems
- Basic understanding of the principles of transmission and/or distribution relay protection a plus
Engineer II: 3+ years of relevant engineering experience or demonstrated equivalent (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications; A an advanced degree can count as one year experience)
- Understanding of AC/DC fundamentals, including three-phase power systems.
- Understanding of the principles of transmission and/or distribution relay protection preferred

Education Requirements
Required degree (equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree): Bachelor’s in Engineering

REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA:
- Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
- Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country’s own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country’s accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or
- Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
- Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.
